The 2024 Simbra Spring Showcase took place on Wednesday, the 4th of September at the Afridome in Parys, and it was a memorable one. The exhibitors included: JacMar Simbras, Reggeraai Simbras, Kuha Simbras, Fasari Simbras, Jamica Simbras, GPC Simbras, Schubra Simbras, Rotswand Simbras and Lekatu Simbras and 67 entries (group and individual). This year’s showcase was propped full of potential from the get-go.
The show was expertly judged by Mr. Hendrik Grobbelaar and Mr. Kinnear Geldenhuys. Many thanks are extended to them for their offered-up time and effort to judge the 2024 participants.
Female results
The title of Female Calf Champion was awarded to Carl Rautenbach’s Reggeraai Qhara, REG23504, and the Reserve Calf Champion was claimed by Kuha Dina, AG2318 of Jandré Joubert; a first-time participant. The titles of Female Senior Champion and Reserve Champion went to Rotswand Caroline, LZ2073, and Rotswand Grace, LZ1742, respectively, of Rotswand Simbras. Fasari Farming Enterprize claimed the titles of Junior Female Champion and Female Grand Champion with RNZ22161C, and Waldon Boerdery claimed the Reserve titles of both categories with NSE2112.
Male results
Reggeraai Simbras claimed the Bull Calf Champion and Reserve Bull Calf Champion titles with Reggeraai Max, REG23546 and REG23502. The Male Junior and Grand Champion titles were claimed by Jamica Pitbull, JHA2276, owned by Jamica Simbras, and the Reserve titles for both categories were claimed by GPC2224 of Summa Gratia Simbras.
Interbreed highlights
The champions of each category went on to participate in the BKB ALE INTERBREED SHOW. The Simbras performed excellently, with Reggeraai Max, REG23546 claiming the title of Reserve Interbreed Calf Champion, and JacMar Jock, JM19155, being awarded the title of Reserve Overall Champion Bull.
